In Visual Merchandising we try not to display products on the edge of shelves. We wouldn’t want the product to fall off or get brushed off the tip by an unknowing passer-by. That leaves us space for items such as POSMs, props, Highlighter or Locator for testers and information.
In conjunction with C & A Era, We designed a set of standard Highlighter for Travel-retail (APAC) that can easily be used for other product series in the near future by simply changing the inserts. The jobscope includes the design, production drawings, laser-cut files and DTP of inserts.
The requirement was to highlight 4 skincare benefits, each represented by a product in the series. A separate design which needs to be bigger was meant for displaying the GWP/Travel Set. Space availability at the various Duty-Free across APAC varies in-terms of dimension and format; some with permanent systems fixed on shelves and we need to make provision for in the design.
We designed a practical and adaptable product that can be used for other future product series. At the conceptual phase, we provided the option of choosing between magnetic sandwich and slot for holding the customized print materials in place.
Our work includes DTP for the first set of print inserts. As Digital Print method on synthetic paper might not produce the correct colour according to Pantone codes, a few rounds of test-prints for colourproofing was needed. The chrome-finishing on “Anti-aging” requires a 2-process UV print to create 100% opacity for the product image.

With our experience in fabrication, we are able to produce production drawings for approval and the actual file for laser-cutting of acrylics.We bring value to both the client and partners by being able to illustrate production requirements to the smallest details.
The final product was revised to be longer to fit more products/testers along the highlighter. This helps to make the highlighter more obvious on the shelf too.
