Concept & Art Direction for New Product Series Packaging
Client was launching a new product under a new series. The job scope first required us to set a concept & directions for the new product series before applying that to the packaging and other marketing materials to come. Some requirements from the client;

For a new series with no marketing resources for referencing, our very first task is to set the concept & direction.
The ingredient, the USP, the effects of application allows us an understanding of the product, facilitating the design process. We also presented colour options, choices of container and forms of box that best projects the premium, focused, well-researched and tested formulae that this series offers.

The series offer formulae that are heavily researched and tested to address very specific skin condition – almost clinical-grade. To create the visual elements for the series, we flirt with keywords that best define the product; Hydrate, Moisturize, Repair, Recover, Increase, Surge, Dermatology.

Our job scope also include transcreation of series and product literature. The primary literature will then be adapted for application on the various channels, ranging from website to packaging. Our work is executed in English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese due to the markets where the product is available. The client engaged us to transcreate, not translate, to take into account the lingo of diverse cultures.

The finalised design is minimalistic, taking advantage of a 2-toned (white-green) colour scheme, adopting a thin and sharp typeface in gray to reflect a more clinical, lab image. The term ‘B5’ is emboldened to highlight the USP and key ingredient of the product. The full set of production files with cut-line and separate finishing artwork was produced for the printing company appointed by the client.
